1. Collection and storage of personal data, nature and purpose of their use

a) Visiting the website

When you visit our website www.tentaclesync.com, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without any action on your part and stored until it is automatically deleted:

IP address of the requesting computer,
Date and time of access,
Name and URL of the retrieved file,
Website from which access is made (referrer URL),
the browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer and the name of your access provider.

This data is stored anonymously in accordance with the German Telemedia Act (TMG). The creation of personal user profiles is therefore excluded. This data is deleted or anonymized after the end of the connection.

We process the aforementioned data for the following purposes:

Ensuring a smooth connection to the website,
To ensure a comfortable use of our website,
Evaluation of system security and stability and
for other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes for data collection listed above. Under no circumstances do we use the data collected for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.

b) Google Maps / Web Fonts

This website uses the Google Maps API, a map service of Google Inc ("Google"), to display an interactive map. By using Google Maps, information about your use of this website (including your IP address) may be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google may transfer the information obtained through Maps to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Under no circumstances will Google associate your IP address with other Google data. Nevertheless, it would be technically possible for Google to identify at least individual users on the basis of the data received. It is possible that personal data and personality profiles of users of the website could be processed by Google for other purposes over which we have and can have no influence. This and the fact that data is transferred to the USA is problematic for data protection reasons. You have the option of easily deactivating the Google Maps service and thus preventing the transfer of data to Google: To do this, deactivate JavaScript in your browser. However, we would like to point out that you will not be able to use the map display in this case.  By using this website and not deactivating the JavaScript function, you expressly declare that you are aware of the data protection issues and that you consent to the processing of the data collected about you by Google in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose.

Google Maps uses so-called web fonts provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as "Google") for the uniform display of fonts.

For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google's servers. As a result, Google becomes aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

c) Use of our contact form

For questions of any kind, we offer you the opportunity to contact us via a form provided on the website. You will need to enter a valid e-mail address and your first name and surname so that we know who sent the query and can respond to it. It is also necessary for you to enter a category, your country and the subject of the inquiry in our contact form so that we can classify and answer your inquiry in the correct language and quickly and reliably. We collect this information as mandatory fields in particular due to the fact that most of our customers are professionals who rely on us to answer support questions promptly in order to use our products professionally.

Data processing for the purpose of contacting us is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your voluntarily given consent by using the contact form. You can revoke this consent at any time. All you need to do is send an informal email to: info@tentaclesync.com. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The personal data collected by us for the use of the contact form will be deleted by us after your request has been dealt with.

d) E-mail contact

If you contact us by email, we will store your details for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in the event that follow-up questions arise. We only store and use other personal data if you consent to this or if this is legally permissible without special consent.

2. Disclosure of data

Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed below.

We only pass on your personal data to third parties if:

you have given your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR,
the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in not disclosing your data,
in the event that there is a legal obligation for disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR, and
this is legally permissible and necessary for the processing of contractual relationships with you in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.

As part of simplifying the processing of our email traffic and inquiries via our contact form, we pass on the data collected from you to the Zendesk ticket system in particular. You can find out more about Zendesk under point 5 of this privacy policy.
